In 1988, Roz McGee became the first Executive Director of Voices for Utah Children. With no staff or funding, she built the organization from the ground up, driven by a fierce passion to advocate for those without a voice.
Her dedication to children and families defined her life’s work. From her early activism in Nashville with the League of Women Voters and the National Association of Child Advocates to her bold leadership in Utah, Roz never stopped fighting for equity and justice. Her fiery spirit even earned her the "Hell Raiser of the Year Award."
After retiring, Roz continued her public service, serving two terms in the Utah House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008, including a role in House Democratic Leadership during her last term.
Roz’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the systems she helped change.
