Marty Palmer

Marty Palmer

William “Marty” Palmer was a person who was full of love and life. He was beloved by the community and his family. He was a husband, a father, and a grandfather. The love in his life wasn’t limited to family but extended to the children who needed him most. Marty worked hard at the University of Utah for his pre-medical training and graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School in 1956. He then married the love of his life, Agi Palmer, in the Church of the Latter-day Saints.

In 1973, Marty accepted an appointment to Primary Children's Medical Center as Ambulatory Medical Director. He was devoted to taking care of others, and many considered him to be a hero. Palmer’s life was full of accolades and organizations that needed his help. He was a member of the Utah Children's Hall of Fame, Physician of the Year, and the Utah Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics/Intermountain Pediatric Society. Because of his hard work and love for children, Utah is a better place.

Dr. Palmer and his wife Nina were the first people inducted into the Utah Children Hall of Fame in 1986 for their efforts on behalf of children. Then-board member Randall Carlisle, a KUTV anchor at the time, presented the awards.
