In the first episode of the Utah Children’s Table Podcast, Executive Director Moe Hickey sits down with child care and early learning professional Kristy DeGraaf to examine the growing challenges facing affordable child care in Utah. Drawing from nearly two decades as a licensed provider and her background in social work, Kristy shares firsthand insight into the financial pressures on families and the sustainability challenges confronting providers. Together, they discuss why the early years are critical for child development and how early childhood policy decisions such as public investment and regulatory choices, are shaping outcomes for children, families, and communities.

Episode 2: Children's Mental and Behavioral Health is on the table with Dr. Neal Davis

In the second episode of the Utah Children’s Table Podcast, Executive Director Moe Hickey sits down with Dr. Neal Davis to discuss what he sees as the most pressing issues impacting children’s health today. Dr. Davis is a community pediatrician at Hillcrest Pediatrics in Murray, Utah, and serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Children’s Health in the Canyons Region at Intermountain Healthcare. He also serves on the board of Voices for Utah Children and is a strong advocate for children’s health policies, bringing a critical lens to how systems and decisions impact the well-being of children and their families.
