Randall Carlisle

In 1985, Utah Children honored Randall for his outstanding, longtime service to children by inducting him into the Utah Children’s Hall of Fame. He was recognized for his impactful “Wednesday’s Child” series on KUTV, which featured children in foster care waiting to be adopted, a series that continues today on KSL News.

Randall Carlisle has had a distinguished career, working for 50 years as a broadcaster before becoming the media and community affairs specialist at Odyssey House of Utah, the largest treatment center in the state. Over the course of his career, he was the lead news anchor at TV stations across the country, including in Dallas, Minneapolis, and most recently at ABC4 in Salt Lake City, where he spent more than 20 years.

Carlisle won three Emmys and covered numerous major stories, including the Kent State shootings, the Oklahoma City bombings, the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Today, he is a passionate advocate within the recovery community and is committed to supporting others for many years to come.
